CREATIVE
After her acting debut as Lady Macbeth in Orange County, California, Wendy went on to play Laurie in Oklahoma and Maria in The Sound of Music.
Wending her way to Boston, Massachusetts, she studied theater and movement with the late, great Richard Toma at Emerson College. Then, she went on to write and perform stand-up, improv, and sketch comedy.
Wendy joined the popular weekly radio show, Have You Heard the News Lately? as an actor and writer. She was also in the founding cast of the wicked funny sketch comedy group, It’s Not My Child. Her acting career continued, in a production of A Hatful of Rain, a sketch show called There’s Free Food in the Conference Room, and The Corner Variety Store, a hilarious podcast.
On the East Coast, Wendy had the pleasure of working with talented comedy notables, like Steve Calechman, Joan Hathaway, John Hargrave, Henry Harvey, Mike Hoban, Michele Markarian, Tom Pruneau, Jason Taylor, and Anita Weiner.
Once called very talented by both David Cross and Tom Agna early in her comedy career, Wendy now lives back in Los Angeles, where she recently performed stand-up at The Ice House in Pasadena and some improv and comedy writing at The Groundlings and Upright Citizens Brigade.
Wendy has also been studying screenwriting with Brad Saunders, a successful producer and long-time teacher here in Los Angeles. She has finished one screenplay, which needs more editing. If you know what I mean.
In her mom days, Wendy served on the board of Artbarn, a children’s theater in Brookline, Massachusetts. And she helped with many-a-play (costumes and props) at her children’s elementary school, also in Brookline, Massachusetts.
